Mr. Tokya E. Dammond is an American and Swiss citizen who first moved to Poland in 1992 to assist in the development of the country's organic agricultural industry. He graduated in 1990 with a B.S. Degree in Rural Sociology and International Development from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Concerned with international development issues, especially rural development, as well as with environmentally sound agricultural practices, he formed Symbio Impex Corp, based in the United States, and Symbio Impex Polska, based in Krakow, Poland. The companies' primary business was to serve the Polish organic farmers by pooling their production, bringing it to market, and linking them to technical information and expertise. In 1998, together with Artur Tyminski and venture capital fund, Caresbac-Polska S.A., he formed the presently operating Symbio Polska Sp. z o.o., referred to throughout this site as Symbio Polska. Mr. Dammond speaks native English, near-fluent French, and conversational Polish.
Mr. Steve A. Sperelakis is an American citizen who has resided in Poland since 1995. He initially came to Poland as a consultant for the MBA Enterprise Corps, a U.S.A-based program which sends MBA graduates with significant work experience to developing countries in order to consult private businesses in the areas of marketing, finance, operations, and business development. Upon completion of his 15-month Corps assignment, he worked nearly two years in marketing for Coca-Cola and three years for the venture capital fund Caresbac-Polska S.A. Steve has an MBA with a Certificate in Environmental Management from the University of Washington, and a B.S. in Food Science from the University of Illinois. Prior to coming to Poland, he worked six years in the food industry, mostly in product development for Keebler, the number 2 cookie and cracker manufacturer in the United States. Steve's hobbies include bicycle touring, traveling, and nature photography. He has bicycle-toured over 3150 miles, and has visited 44 countries including the trans-Siberian railway journey from Beijing to Warsaw. Steve speaks native English, near-fluent Polish, conversational Greek, and basic Spanish. Mr. Sperelakis joined Symbio Polska in May 2001, but was involved with the company practically since its inception as Deputy Director General of Caresbac-Polska.
Mr. Artur Tyminski, a Polish native, formed Symbio Polska together with Tokya Dammond and Caresbac-Polska in 1998. Mr. Tyminski received a Masters Degree in Agriculture from Lublin University in 1989. While a student, he completed several internships with the Agricultural Extension Service (WODR) in Kielce. After graduation, he worked on several family farms, both in Poland and in the U.K. In the early 1990's, Artur went to New York where he received a Certificate in International Business and Finance from New York University as well as a Certificate in Marketing and Advertising from Baruch College. While in New York, he worked as Marketing Manager for ArtGlobe Trading Company as well as a Sales Specialist for D.F. King & Co. Artur speaks native Polish and fluent English.
